Cranberry Onion Chicken
Cranberry Onion Chicken
I don’t think it can get much easier.
Four ingredients + one dish = DELICIOUS
Bonus – Easy clean up!!
This can be made on a busy weekday evening or for a dinner party — it is that good.
A friend at work gave me the recipe, which was handed down from her grandmother.
While baking, the dressing and cranberries incorporate into a tasty sauce with a perfect tart/sweet balance.
And the color. . .
The rich burgundy of the cranberries over the chicken and white rice is dazzling!!
We make it often as it is a favorite in our home.
-
4 bone in or boneless chicken breasts (skinless)
- 1- 2 packages onion soup mix
- 1 can of whole cranberry sauce (not jellied) *
- Bottled French dressing
* you can use homemade cranberry sauce (leftovers from Thanksgiving)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Put chicken in baking dish and rub with onion soup mix.
Drizzle French dressing over chicken (I used about 1/4 of a large bottle for two breasts)
Pour cranberry sauce on top.
Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour.
THAT’S IT!!!!
Serve over plain white rice with lots of the sauce.
Serves 4
My Mociute (grandma) would be proud! 🙂 This is our “go to” dish for dinner parties — so easy and delicious. I’m always asked for the recipe. Works well with apricot or lingonberry jam too (although cranberries are the favorite)
Andrea,
Well I have to thank you for recipe. It’s great!!!!
