I know it’s not fun and somewhat tedious, but I thought it is important.  I used to be good at math (Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?), but years of concentration and wear and tear on my brain has left me somewhat feeble in the calculation arena, so I try to have these resources close at hand, as well as hand held calculator.

Liquid Measure Equivalents

1 teaspoon = 1/8 fluid ounce = 5 milliliters

1 tablespoon – 1/2 fluid ounce = 15 milliliters

2 tablespoons = 1 fluid ounce = 30 milliliters

1/4 cup = 2 fluid ounces = 60 milliliters

1/3 cup = 2 2/3 fluid ounces = 80 milliliters

1/2 cup = 4 fluid ounces = 125 milliliters

2/3 cups = 5 1/3 fluid ounces = 160 milliliters

3/4 cups = 6 fluid ounces = 177 milliliters

1 cup = 8 fluid ounces = 250 milliliters

2 cups (1 pint) = 16 fluid ounces = 500 milliliters

4 cups (1 quart) = 32 fluid ounces = 1000 milliliters

Solid Measure Equivalents

1/8 ounce = 5 grams

1/2 ounce = 15 grams

1 ounce = 30 grams

2 ounces = 60 grams

4 ounces = 115 grams = 1/4 pound

6 ounces = 180 grams

8 ounces = 225 grams = 1/2 pound

12 ounces = 340 grams  = 3/4 pound

16 ounces = 450 grams = 1 pound

20 ounces = 560 grams = 1 1/4 pounds

24 ounces = 675 grams = 1 1/2 pounds

32 ounces = 900 grams = 2 pounds

36 ounces = 1000 grams = 2 1/4 pounds
